Main Street Flag Placement - Nov. 11
Post 1758 was out bright and early on Friday morning placing flags along Main Street (NY Rt. 82) to commemorate Veterans Day. After the flags were in place, the group retired to the nearby Dunkin' shop for some coffee and a few donuts. Pictured above (left to right) are Kevin Hines, Commander Jim Reynolds, Santo Abbate, Mike Miller, Jeff Boes, Bill Meyer, John Polasko, Bill Kriebel, Len Hart, John Call and Dona Greenwood.
Monday afternoon, John Call, Dona Greenwood, Len Hart, Bill Kriebel and Commander Jim Reynolds retrieved the flags.

The Veterans' tent was initially manned by Commander Jim Reynolds and Don Burns, and after the parade, Bill Meyer and Bill Kriebel.
9/11 Commemoration Ceremony
It was a drizzly Sunday afternoon, but Post 1758 had a very good turnout to provide the color guard for East Fishkill's annual 9/11 commemoration ceremony. Members participating were Tom Masch, John Polasko, Contad Gagnon, Cdr. Jim Reynolds, Len Hart, Jim Broughton, John Call, Bill Meyer, Jeff Miedowski, Bill Kriebel and Kevin Hines. Flag Day Flag Retirement Ceremony - June 14
We had a great turnout at our Flag Day Ceremony. Sixteen post members and a member of a
post on Long Island that always joins us. If you can’t make out the faces from the left is Jeff

Sachem Daniel Ninham Statue Dedication - June 11
On Saturday morning June 11, the Town of Fishkill dedicated a statue of Sachem Daniel Ninham, a Native American who died fighting the British in defense of Washington's army in the Revolutionary War. Post 1758 was invited to provide a Color Guard for the event.
Post members participating in the ceremony were Jim Broughton, John Call, Bruce Coneeny, Conrad Gagnon, Bill Kriebel, John Lyons, Tom Masch, Bill Meyer, Jeff Miedowski, Mike Miller, Dan Oberhauser, Commander Jim Reynolds and John Polasko. Also present were Hal Brilliant and Tom Budington.
Memorial Day Cemetery Flag Pickup - June 4
Every year prior to Memorial Day, "Manny Bacon" Post 1758 goes to St. Denis and Hopewell Cemeteries to place flags on the graves of those who have served our country in the military. On the Saturday following Memorial Day, members assemble at the cemeteries to retrieve the flags.

Placing Flags On Veterans' Graves
Raising Flags at Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club
In appreciation for how Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club provides the use of its facilities for Venture Crew shooting sports, Post 1758 provided new U.S. and P.O.W. flags to replace the tattered ones on their flagpole. Post members assembled at 2 p.m. on April 2 to present the new flags to Club Vice President Brendan Higgins, and assist in the replacement.

Viet Nam Veterans Day Proclamation - March 24
At the start of the East Fishkill Town Board meeting, Supervisor Nick D'Alessandro read a proclamation recognizing veterans who served in the Vietnam War era. After reading the proclamation, he presented it to First Vice Commander Don Burns, filling in for Acting Commander Jim Reynolds, who was unable to attend due to a death in his family (a brother).
Post members in attendance were Dan Briscoe, Don Burns, John Call, George Dickman, Bill Kriebel, John Lyons and John Polasko.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, John Polasko presented Supervisor D'Alessandro with a Paracord Survival Bracelet.

St. Patrick's Parade - March 5
It was a cold Saturday in March, but twelve stalwart members of Manny Bacon Post met at the parking lot behind Walgreens in Wappingers Falls, most to leave their vehicles there as the parade ends just a couple of blocks away. They all boarded the vehicles that would be in the parade and traveled to the starting point on North St. Step-off was 1 p.m., and it took a bit over an hour to march the length of the village.
