Sgt. Jacob Daniel Baker
It was with profound sadness that we learned of the passing of Sgt. Jacob Baker whom we had sponsored in 2017 to the Boys State Program.
A contingent of Post 1758 members attended the visitation on Aug. 8 to pay the post's respects. Members present were Don Burn, John Call, Norm Dauerer, Bill Kriebel, Tom Masch, Bill Meyer, John Polasko and Commander Jim Reynolds.

"Manny" Bacon Gravesite Visit
On April 20, post members (left to right) Jeff Miedowski, Commander Jim Reynolds, Bill Kriebel, John Call, Norm Dauerer and (not shown) Conrad Gagnon, traveled to the Pinelawn National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of our post's namesake, Charles P. "Manny" Bacon being killed in action (KIA) in North Africa during WWII.
Mr. Symer was not a member of our post, but since his family was unable to find his military records, he did not get military honors, so the post was asked to provide them. Attending were Don Burns, Conrad Gagnon, Bill Meyer, Dan Oberhauser, Commander Jim Reynolds and Bob Spinillo.
