2023 Oratorical Contest
Our post held an oratorical contest for high school students at the East Fishkill Community Library on December 16. This year, there was only one contestant, Sarah Morgan.
Representing the post were Jeff Miedowski, Dan Oberhauser, Don Burns, Conrad Gagnon, John Polasko and John Call (photographer). Representing the Dutchess County American Legion were Kevin Hathorn and Nathan Grant (accompanied by his wife).
Sarah was accompanied by her parents and grandparents. Her grandfather is a Korean War veteran, and her father, John Morgan, was a previous oratorical contest winner. Due to a prior commitment, Sarah was unable to continue on to the District competition.
At the January 9 monthly meeting, Sarah was awarded with a certificate and a check for $200 for her participation. She was accompanied by her mother.
