Vincent Michael Richards, 80, a resident of East Fishkill since 1978, died on March 26, 2026 at Putnam Hospital Center following a short illness. He passed into the arms of the Angel of the Bugler. … A parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, Vinny was a life member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of Manny Bacon Post #1758 American Legion, Elks Lodge #1493, Beacon, the New York City Musicians Association and the Retired Army Musicians Association. On Monday, April 6, a wake for Vinnie was held at McHoul's Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction. Post members attending were Commander Lance Ashworth, Drew Bellantone, Dan Briscoe, John Call, Norm Dauerer, Nelson Heddle, Bill Meyer, Jeff Miedowski, Ed Morrison, Tom Masch and Jim Reynolds. Also attending was former post member and current Dutchess County Adjutant Kevin Hathorn. The following day, Tuesday, April 7, a funeral mass was held at St. Mary's RC Church in Fishkill, followed by a burial ceremony at St. Denis Cemetery. Post member Jim Broughton attended the mass but was unavailable for the burial. Kevin Hathorn, Nelson Heddle, Bill Meyer and Fred Beck executed the rifle salute. Also present at the burial were Commander Ashworth, Jim Reynolds and Bill Kriebel. |
