2018 Oratorical Contest

Update: Katelyn and Bryce went on to compete in the county contest held at Post 203 in Beacon on Dec. 15. Katelyn was declared the winner with Bryce taking second place. They were awarded prize money from our post ($75 each) at the Dec. 19 county meeting in Hyde Park by Commander James Reynolds. The prize money for winning the county contest was $200, with $150 for second place.

Our Post Oratorical Contest was held on Saturday, November 10th. We had two students show up at the Old Town Hall for the competition, a brother and sister, Bryce and Katelyn Albert.
Bryce is a senior at RCK and Katelyn is a junior. Both were critiqued and suggestions made to improve their speeches. The Post voted to split the total award between the two.
Each will get $75.00, normally 1st place is awarded $100 and 2nd place $50.
They will both move on to the County competition on December 15th at Post 203 in Beacon
